You go down the longest road to nowhere

Morgan Page ft. Lissie West “The Longest Road” (Deadmau5 Remix)

This is the radio edit but this is probably one of my favourite songs of 2008. Fantastic surreal lyrics that i think I have made sense of! The full length version is fantastic.

Pure dead-beat Deadmau5 on this too.

Giddy up and gold dust, all the cars turn to rust You’ve got no means for wanderlust.” — Stunning.

  1. Found this by googling the lyrics to “The Longest Road” of which I just heard a trance version on DI.fm . Love the song. Strong Fleetwood Mac influence which is even referenced, I think, by her use of the term “gold dust”, used by Stevie Nicks in the line, “Rock on gold dust woman, Take your silver spoon and dig your grave.” Similar theme to the lyrics as those of Fleetwood Mac as well: she sings “If you are so frequently in love, If you prefer it all to me, Love, You go down the road to nowhere” and Fleetwood Mac sings, “You can go your own way, You can call it another lonely day”. And then they share the whole fascination with the southern California desert. Good to see the down ’70’s live on.
