Impression Milton Keynes

impressionism (n.) The practice of expressing or developing one’s subjective response to a work of art or to actual experience.
Milton Keynes is a unique English city that fifty years ago did not exist. Since its designation in 1967 it has attracted many criticisms and opinions abound. It still remains a talking point to this day with its unique urban design, realisation of a true garden city, grid road system and architectural design in places so unlike something of English pedigree. This photographic study aims not only to look at the myths that surround Milton Keynes (e.g. concrete jungle), to honestly look at where problems have arisen and the people of the city. It is a celebration of an underappreciated place in the view of the photographer, but more than anything, it is an impression of Milton Keynes.

The unwritten postlude – is writing a preface, indeed a postlude or epilogue taking away from the purity of the project as an impression? This is the postlude I likely won’t include in the book for the sake of this purity.
